Marko Pitkänen

I am a member of the technical field team, working with data catchments. My major was in Ancient Greek from the University of Turku, Finland, but I have also studied Classical Archaeology, Latin and Cultural history.

Between 1999 and 2001 I participated in the Finnish Institute excavations at Arethousa in Northern Greece, where an Early Christian basilica was investigated. During the Turku university excavations at Lundo in 2002, where an Iron Age complex was investigated, I began working as a technician and have continued doing so for the Kalaureia Research Program since 2004 and for The Swedish Pompei Project of The Swedish Institute for Classical Studies in Rome and The University of Stockholm in 2006.
