I amÂ Reader in Archaeology at the University of Southampton and have taught at the University of Wales Lampeter (1996âˆ’2000) and at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2005). I have held a number of research fellowships, with most recently a residential scholarship at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles (2005âˆ’2006). I sit on a number of editorial boards of journals and book series, including the Journal of Mediterranean Archaeology, the Annual of the British School at Athens, the Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, Archaeologies: The Journal of the World Archaeological Congress, Research in Archaeological Education, and the WAC Research Handbooks in Archaeology.
My research interests include: the role of archaeology in the present, the politics of the past, critical pedagogy, the archaeology of food and of the consuming body, the archaeology of the bodily senses, and the prehistory of the Aegean. At Poros I direct the archaeological ethnography and community archaeologyÂ part of the programme.
